As a member of the Steering Committee and Young Lawyer Liaison for the DRI Construction Law Committee, I am looking forward to our upcoming seminar, “Construction Law: Don’t Roll the Dice or Rely on Chance – An Industry-Guided Approach to Today’s Construction Landscape,” at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas from March 1-3, 2017.

This year’s program includes timely and informative programming along a broad base of topics important to construction law practitioners and their clients, including:

  • Public Relations and Crisis Management
  • The Varied Insurance Products Available to Contractors
  • Effectively Negotiating Construction Contracts
  • Emerging National and Regional Case Law and Construction Litigation Trends
  • Defending Defective Stucco Claims
  • Emerging Policies and Methodologies relating to the Design of Buildings with “Zero” Environmental Impact
  • “Rock and Roll Ethics” (described by some as the most entertaining ethics credits you will ever earn)

And of course, no DRI Construction Law conference would be complete without ample opportunities to see and reconnect with colleagues, see old friends, and meet new ones! There will be networking receptions, dine-arounds, and the annual Construction Law Committee Women’s Networking Reception, as well as gaming instruction during Wednesday night’s welcome reception (to provide you with certain skills that can prove useful in a city such as Las Vegas…).

For those of you who can make it to Las Vegas earlier, there will be a golf tournament at the Royal Links Golf Club, with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. on March 1 (team and individual registrations are accepted). Registration fees include a continental breakfast, greens fees, cart, practice balls, and lunch. Clubs and shoe rentals are available, and a shuttle service will be provided to and from the course.

DRI’s $100 early registration discount and the hotel block both expire on February 7, 2017, so don’t delay! Registration for the Golf tournament will be accepted until February 10, 2017.
