Nina L. Savas

Nina serves on the firm’s Health Care team, where she focuses her practice on medical malpractice defense and other litigated matters. She defends physicians, hospitals, and other health care professionals throughout South Carolina in cases involving alleged negligence, wrongful death, medication errors, and a wide range of malpractice claims.
Nina brings substantial courtroom experience to her civil litigation practice. After law school, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk for Circuit Court Judge The Honorable J.C. Nicholson, Jr.. She then spent ten years as a State Prosecutor in the Ninth Judicial Circuit, where she became a Managing Assistant Solicitor and prosecuted General Sessions cases in Charleston County. She later transitioned into civil litigation, handling medical malpractice defense matters in state and federal court. Her broader litigation experience also includes construction defect, products liability defense, and commercial auto defense matters.
In addition to her litigation practice, Nina serves as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the Town of Summerville. She is actively involved in the legal community as a member of the Petigru Inn of Court, the Charleston County Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar Association.
Nina earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law and attended the University of Colorado School of Law at Boulder as a visiting student in the Silicon Flatirons Research Center for Technologies, Law, and Entrepreneurship. During law school, she placed as a National Quarterfinalist on the Moot Court Board, earned the CALI Award in Trial Advocacy, served as President of Phi Alpha Delta, and Senator of the Student Bar Association. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies on the Dean’s List from Stetson University.
