Sean Foerster represents banks, lenders, servicers, and title companies in matters involving recovery of commercial and consumer debt and loan collateral, as well as public utilities in eminent domain proceedings and small businesses in commercial disputes. His practice is focused on litigation, with particular emphasis on cases involving real estate disputes, contested foreclosures (commercial and residential), tax sale challenges and surplus claims, title insurance claims, condemnation, commercial lease disputes, claim and delivery, mortgage lender/creditor liability, debt collection, small business disputes, and criminal forfeiture of real property. He handles cases all the way through the appellate court level.
Sean graduated cum laude from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina. While in law school, Sean worked as a Legal Writing Clinic Assistant, served on the ABA Real Property, Probate & Trust Journal, and served as a Board Member of the Pro Bono Program. He was a member of The International Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi. Sean was the recipient of the CALI Award in Professional Responsibility as well as the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award for his service as a guardian ad litem representing abused and neglected children.
Outside of Rogers Townsend, Sean serves on the Board of Directors of the Contemporaries of the Columbia Museum of Art and the Board of Directors of the Richland County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Foundation. He also serves on the Long Range Planning Committee of the City Center Partnership. He was a member of the Class of 2016 of Leadership South Carolina and the Class of 2012 of Leadership Columbia.
